The latest signings have been signed and Inter Miami owner David Beckham has revealed his delight at being able to bring Lionel Messi to his team.
Inter Miami have officially confirmed the signing of Messi following his decision to move to the MLS club following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain. Beckham has spoken of his delight at seeing Messi join his team, describing the transfer as a dream come true in a message on social media.
Beckham wrote on Instagram: The next chapter of our story begins here. Ten years ago, when I started this journey, I dreamed of bringing the world's greatest soccer players to Miami... Players who shared the ambition that I had when I joined LA Galaxy to help grow soccer in this country and create a legacy in this country for the world's most beautiful sport.
Today this dream came true. I couldn't be more proud to have a player of Leo's caliber join our team, but I'm also happy to welcome a friend, an amazing person and his beautiful family to our Inter Miami FC community.< /p>
Messi's move is a real success for Inter Miami and Beckham and is expected to give MLS a big boost. Messi is coming off the pinnacle of football success by helping to win the World Cup last year in Qatar and joins a team currently bottom of the Eastern Conference.
Fans will now have the chance to watch Messi in his new number 10 shirt when he makes his debut for the club against Cruz Azul on July 21.
