Chelsea strikes again! The Blues are set to sign Santos' prodigious talent David Washington in a €20m deal.
Chelsea have reportedly offered €20 million to Santos to sign Brazilian talent David Washington.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for 18-year-old striker David Washington. Now transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that the Blues have made a bid for the Santos youngster, have agreed personal terms, the player is keen on the move and a loan move to Ligue 1 side Strasbourg will follow should he sign for the Chelsea.
Washington, who has scored two goals in nine games this season, will become the London club's seventh signing of the summer transfer window. They have spent more than €180 million on transfers to date, including the signings of Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disassi, Nicolas Jackson, Leslie Ogotchukwu, Angelo and free-agent signing Diego Moreira.
Washington, who made his Santos debut in April and scored his first goal a month later, is primarily a central striker but can also play as a left or right winger. He will become the second young Santos player to join Chelsea this summer, following the signing of Angelo in July.
If he signs, Washington could move to Chelsea in the coming days, before potentially linking up with Strasbourg before the Ligue 1 season kicks off on August 11.
