Shocking scene as ex-Newcastle goalkeeper Shaka Hislop faints live on air. (video)

Saka Hislop collapsed while covering Real Madrid's friendly match against AC Milan live.

Hislop, a former Premier League goalkeeper, played over 250 games for Newcastle United, West Ham United and Portsmouth, and has become a successful pundit in the United States since his retirement. He was appearing on live coverage of Sunday's friendly match in Pasadena, California when the horrific incident occurred.

While speaking to partner Dan Thomas, Hislop rocked backwards and forwards before collapsing to the ground. There was immediate concern among the crew as the cover was immediately cut off and people rushed to his aid.

Hislop, 54, was later reported to be conscious, talking and "a bit shy" as ESPN provided a positive update. His colleague gives the latest news to the dash and after Hislop was examined by medical visitors.

“That was of course secondary to what happened before the match,” Thomas said. “Of course, my friend Saka is not here, but as it turns out, we have good news.

He's conscious, he's talking, I think he's a little ashamed of what happened. He apologized repeatedly, he is not a person who likes to make a big fuss about him.

Obviously, it's too early to make any kind of diagnosis, but the important thing is that Saka is conscious and talking and we've also spoken to his family, imagine seeing something like that happen live, there's not many things that can scare the family more.

We talked to his wife and things look good. Thanks for all the support, and for now, it looks like Saka will be fine.
